Meet The Staff of Kohls-Weelborg Ford-Mercury

 Ron Kohls Co-owner. 

Ron has been part owner since 1980 and has been in the auto industry for 40 years.  Ron's name is a household name with the customer base he has built up over the years.  His daughter, Tina, is the Finance Manager, making this a family dealership.  Ron enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters and his grandchildren.

Brett Weelborg- Co-owner.  

Brett has been involved with Kohls/Weelborg Ford since 1987.  As part owner Brett is here for you and his smiling face is usually one of the first faces you'll see in the dealership.  Brett enjoys spending time with his wife, 3 daughters and a son.  You can also find Brett cruising on his Harley or golfing at the local golf links.

Tina Klinkner- Finance Manager. 

Tina has worked with her father since 1994 and her husband is one of the Service Advisors.  She loves working within the Kohls-Weelborg family and she also enjoys the sports activities of her son and daughter.

Doug Kopischke- Sales Manager. 

Doug has been in the Kohls-Weelborg Ford family since 1997 after many years in banking and insurance.  Doug is Sales Master Certified.  Doug has been married to his wife for nearly 30 years and they have one daughter and two sons.  Doug is very involved within the Morgan, MN community including over 25 years with the Morgan Fire Department and ambulance service.  He is also involved in acting in the local plays! 

Dave Beranek- Sales Consultant. 

Dave has been with Kohls-Weelborg Ford since 1996.  He has many loyal customers from his hometown of New Ulm and surrounding areas.  Dave’s hobbies include riding motorcycle, snowmobiling and pretty much anything to do with the outdoors with his wife of nearly 40 years!  Dave has 4 grown children and 2 granddaughters! 

Joel Read- Sales Consultant. 

Joel has worked in the dealership since 1991 and in the Sales Department since 1994. Joel was recently given an award for outstanding achievement!  The award is part of Ford’s Employee Excellence Program.  The award recognizes the top salespeople and service personnel from dealerships across the United States!  Joel was one of 700 in the nation and 21 in Minnesota to earn this award.  Joel has many loyal customers.  Joel’s hobbies include riding his motorcycle, snowmobiling and working on cars!  Joel is also a volunteer fireman for the City of Redwood Falls. Joel has a wife and 3 daughters that also keep him busy! 

Jim Oman- Sales Consultant. 

Jim has worked for Kohls-Weelborg Ford since January 1998.  In Jim’s spare time he enjoys snowmobiling, hunting, riding his ATV and spending time with his family.  You can also find Jim at the hockey arena or baseball field watching the kids in their many sports activities! 

Jon Hamre - Sales Consultant

Jon has recently joined us at Kohls-Weelborg Ford but has been in automobile sales for the last 7 years!  In Jon’s spare time he enjoys fishing and sports of any kind!  He has a wife, young daughter and a Yellow Lab, named Jake that also keeps him busy!   

Drew Larson- Commercial Truck Manager.   

Drew has been selling commercial trucks for the dealership since 2002!  Living in Springfield, Drew enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and eats and breathes Minnesota Wild Hockey!   

Rick Farmer- Sales Consultant. 

Rick is carrying on the family tradition and has been selling cars for Kohls-Weelborg since 2005!  Rick’s father, Ray, sold cars for 40 years!  Living in Morton with his wife and daughter’s, Rick is a volunteer fireman!  Rick spent 6 years in the Navy and is a veteran of Desert Storm.  Rick is our Sync Voice Activated System Specialist! 

 Jason Garman- Service Manager.

Jason has been in the Kohls-Weelborg Family since 1990.  His vast mechanical background insures your automobile will be diagnosed and fixed correctly.  Jason is Service Certified.  Along with anything having to do with ‘cars’, Jason spends time with his wife, two daughters and one son.

Ron "Jr" Klinkner- Service Advisor. 

Ron has worked for Kohls-Weelborg Ford for over 15 years and is usually the first face you will see when walking into the service department.  Ron is Service Advisor Master Certified with Ford.  His wife, Tina, is the Finance Manager and his father-in-law is co-owner, Ron Kohls.  Ron enjoys spending time with his 2 children and is also an EMT for North Memorial. 

Kristy Volz- Service Advisor. 

Kristy has been a service writer since 2007.  She is Service Advisor Certified with Ford.  Kristy loves spending time with her family and stays very busy with her two children when she is not working hard in the Service Department. 

Theresa Wertish- Business Office Manager.  Theresa has worked for the dealership for over 40 years!  She controls the hub of operations and keeps the company running smoothly.  When not spending time with her husband and daughter, she enjoys gardening, quilting and cooking.

Jacque Reck- Office Administrator. 

Melanie Frederiksen- Receptionist. 

Melanie joined Kohls-Weelborg Ford as a part time receptionist in 2000.  When Melanie is not working she is enjoying spending time with her husband, family and two grandsons!  Melanie’s hobbies include camping, gardening and reading.

Krista Trebesch- Receptionist

Krista has recently joined us at Kohls-Weelborg Ford as a part time receptionist.  Krista is a certified Massage Therapist and owns her own business besides working at Ford!  Krista keeps busy with her husband and three children. In Krista’s spare time she enjoys camping, reading and spending time with her family. 

 Parts Department

Ken Gano- Parts Manager- Ken has been with Kohls-Weelborg since 1986, but has been in the car business for many more. Ken is Parts Master Certified.  When Ken is not at work he is an avid fisherman.  Kenny is married, has two daughters and a son. 

Kevin Wyffels- Assistant Parts Manager- Since 1989 Kevin has been part of the Kohls-Weelborg Ford family.  His expertise in the Parts Department guarantees customer satisfaction.  Kevin is Parts Master Certified.  When Kevin is off of work he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.

Detail Department

Kevin Zaske - Detail Department- Kevin joined the family in 2005.  When not making the vehicles look their best, you’ll find Kevin hunting, training hunting dogs or watching NASCAR with his wife and daughter.   

Doug Nichols - Doug is a Ridgewater College graduate in the Auto Body field. Doug also has his own graphics business that he runs out of his home. In Doug’s spare time he enjoys camping with his family, working on cars and keeping up with his son who is a toddler!

Service Technicians

Jerry Guetter-  Jerry has worked at the dealership for over 25 years!  His knowledge and patience are a great benefit to the Kohls-Weelborg Ford Service Department. Jerry is Service Certified.   If he’s not fishing, Jerry is with his wife or hanging out with his grandchildren. 

Steve Castle- Steve has worked in the Service Department for almost 25 years!  His electrical expertise makes him a valuable asset to our team.  Steve is Service Certified.  Steve spends most of his off time following his two children to their sporting events or some quiet time golfing.

Tony Prechel-  Tony has been with the Kohls-Weelborg Ford team since 2004.  Tony is our quiet, unassuming diesel mechanic who leads with his mechanical abilities.  If he’s not in early to finish a mechanical job, he’s out running his trap line or just enjoying the great outdoors. 

Tom Whortenbury- Tom started his career at Kohls-Weelborg Ford in 2005.  Tom is an avid gamer and also enjoys golfing.  Tom and his wife are expecting their first child in the spring of 2010. 

Jason Dallenbach - Jason joined our staff in 2007.  In Jason’s spare time he works on demolition derby cars and enjoys driving, or crashing, in derbies throughout the summer.   Jason has a wife and two sons that also keep him busy 

Phil Rybacki - Phil has been a Ford Service technician for 15 years, joining our team in 2009.  Phil is Service Certified with Ford.  Phil is usually one of the first people to work in the morning and the last to leave!  In Phil’s spare time he enjoys working on cars and spending time with his wife.

Commerical Truck Department

Rick Castle -Commercial Truck Department -  Rick has lived his whole life in Redwood Falls.  He has a wife, a daughter and two sons.  His specialty in the truck department is fabricating and as he puts it “anything with iron.”   One of his hobbies is whitewater rafting and he also enjoys working with iron as a hobby.  Rick has been with us, in the truck department, since May 2008

Chuck Farmer - Commercial Truck Department.  Chuck’s in charge of transportation, detailing trucks and many, many other tasks in the commercial truck department.  When Chuck is out of the dealership he’s spending time outdoors or with his family.

Leon Peterson - Commercial Truck Department.  Leon has been in the Kohls-Weelborg Ford family since 2003.  He is a multi-tasker and wears many hats within the Commercial Truck Department. Leon and his wife enjoy riding around the country on their Trike.   They also enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. 

Can't Do It Without Him

Gene Gores- has been a key part of everyday operations since 1993.  Gene's roles are vast and very much in demand.  An electrician for the county for many years, Gene's knowledge and smiling face is a bright spot at the dealership.
